Question

PC wont boot correctly

Sep 7, 2016 3:32PM PDT

Recently my PC has started having trouble while booting. I hae to restart it up t o10-15 times sometimes and it keeps stopping at where it says, I think (I dont want to try to restart it right now and have it not work, but will update later if I have to) something about DMI pool data and then go no further. So far I am able to get it to boot eventually. An even worse sign is that when I try to enter BIOS it just goes to a black screen with a flashing underscore like it is expecting me to type something. I tried going to the "boot load order" menu to maybe try booting from my windows CD (even though it is an 8.1 version and I upgraded to Windows 10 lol) but the arrows on my keyboard wont work even though I can push capslock and see the caps light light up. I am thinking I probably need a new mother board but thought I would get on here and ask the experts first just in case as searching google didn't seem to turn up anything.
Thanks for any help in advance,
RevCarl10

But when you see startup issues like this, you know to change that setting. Not that you can tell folk "that's it." I don't know why but I had another startup trouble post and they wanted a guarantee this would fix it. Not sure what I'm going to tell them next.

Won't boot

If you can't get into the bios forget the OS.

Your either not pressing the proper keys or you have lower level problems.
