Pc won't play games

Dec 1, 2003 6:49PM PST

When trying to play games, my pc will turn itself off after a few minutes. this has also happened a couple of times when writing to a cd or when scanning a document.

also some animations in the games run too fast. i also receive a "run dll as app" error when I try to check my graphics cards settings. I have a GeForce 4 MX video card.

Any ideas whats wrong and how to fix it?

cheers
andy

"Tip: If you are asking for help to troubleshoot a computer-related problem, please be sure to include all the necessary information (ie: operating system, model number, hardware, software, etc) that will help others identify your problem for a speedy resolution."

You can try removing the case cover and pointing a fan at the internals to see if it's a heat related problem. If it's not, then that won't make a difference and you get to find and install the best drivers for the OS you are using.

So little was told that this is all I can offer at the moment.
