PC Wakes Up By Itself

Feb 26, 2014 2:22AM PST

I often put my Dell Vostro to the sleep mode before I call off for the day. I notice the pc wakes up by itself in a mid-night. That is very strange to me. I can't explain a reason other than someone hacks into my pc. Any other explanation?

Many reasons.

Dell's (and other PCs) can have a wake up in the BIOS, there is Wake On Lan settings and then in some setups we can have a scheduled wake to run updates.

It does not mean much most of the time. As you own your PC you may have to do more research about the usual wake up calls.
