1. Go to Control Panel->Power Options.
2. Click on change plan settings.
3. Click on advanced plan settings below (if you are a standard user it may ask for the admin password).
4. Click on Power button and lid option. You will see Lid close option. Check the status on both battery and plugged in, they should both be on shutdown.
I have a PC and a laptop, both in Windows 10 and both connected to the same internet connection; the PC is wired (from the router) and the laptop simply uses Wi-Fi.
Almost every time I close the lid of my laptop my PC turns on, and I have no idea what's going on or how to stop it.
I suspect that it has something to do with having created a home group a while back to share some folders, but I deleted this group and it's still happening. The laptop seems to be sending a "magic packet" to turn the PC on, but why? How do I stop it? I still want to be able to turn my PC on remotely, but not when I close the lid of my laptop!
I honestly don't know what to do figure this out, and haven't been able to find useful information online, so any help from you guys will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
