PC tools scam

May 3, 2010 1:25AM PDT

I did not authorize PC tools to charge my credit card for their product but they charged it anyway. The have not responded to my complaint.

Last year I think that I reviewed their product and saw that it was of no value to me. I then neglected to opt out and they charged my credit card because of my neglect, I think. Since I had no use for it I forgot about it.
This year they sent me several emails asking me to sign up for another year. I ignored them as it was not something I wanted. Eventually they tired of my non response and manipulated my card so as to be able to charge it without my authorization. When they sent me the thankyou message I ignored it as I had not approved it and this is a ploy by many companies to get an authorization. Then I found the unauthorized charge on my card, I complained they ignored my complaint. and by then it was beyond complaining to the credit card.

They had my card number from the previous year but they did not have the correct expiration date and had to guess the date as I did not give it to them.

If this isn't a scam then what is!

This is easy to fix with a phone call to my credit card company. But today I find folk calling mistakes scams and scams mistakes. Go figure.

Yes, absolutely PC Tools are a company that takes your money without authorisation - I believe that is referred to as stealing. Do not deal with PC Tools.
