From what little I know, it simply comes down to output resolution from your computer. If you have a 1080p TV, you probably want a video card/computer that will output 1080p (or at minimum 720p). The way I did it with my new Macbook was to get a DVI/HDMI cord from Monoprice, and I run my laptop video out to a free HDMI port on the TV. Only problem is getting sound to work, which I haven't quite worked out yet. I'll probably see if I have a RCA/digital out adapter somewhere in the house and run that to my receiver.
This is related to Tom's appearance on ABC discussing connecting a PC to the television and watching shows from their rather than cable. Any recommendations on particular computers, or would anything pretty much work?
