PC stops responding problem :(

May 1, 2015 11:35PM PDT

Hello guys I have a huge problem and I can't solve it

Everytime I spend some time on the pc on skype and I play games with my friends while chatting the computer freezes. All programs stop and they turn to not responding then every line of text in the pc changes font and color fast making the pc unusable. everytime I open a program it stops responding and everyone on skype hears an awful noise. the only solution is to restart my pc...

here is what I tried to do:
alot of people told me to clean my pc because it might be overheating but I tried that . I went to a PC shop and they cleaned everything off dust and they replaced my heatsink thermal glue. the problem still persists.

specs: proccesor- AMD Phenom II X3 710
4 GB ram ; windows 7 ; GTX 260

Do I have to change some pieces ? please help me ty

Before you change pieces

Try cleaning the system with the usual canned air and replacing all old heatsink compounds. Yes, it's an older PC so troubles like this may dog it even after the usual work. Sometimes you get a client that doesn't believe this work is needed or DEMANDS that it fix it. For them you show them new PCs.

I mean it depends. sometimes it happens after 4 hours on the pc and sometimes after 30 mins so there isnt any difference really

Then let's look at the games.

Some are buggy or cause odd failures. I don't see much except what looks like an old PC. My bet is it's done this for years.

So, try it with AA turned off in the game?
