Resolved Question

PC started lagging out of nowhere. PLS HELP :(

May 12, 2018 8:34AM PDT

Hello guys! I'm struggling with a problem that i can't solve for like half a year. So, I have a GTX 1060 6GB TURBO, 16GB DDR4 Samsung RAM and and Intel i5-7600. I got it in July 2017 and everything was fine. For e.g. GTA V was running 60FPS stable with VSync on and some of the advanced graphics on. After some time, January-February this year, to be exactly, my PC started lagging in games. Now I have a lot of FPS drops in GTA (from 60 i get sometimes to 58-45) wich I never got before. NFS Payback has fps drops as well as CS:GO, PUBG, Forza and other games I play.
I've went to a lot of forums and FB groups asking for help.. and I did everything what people told me. I even tried to disable that Meltdown or idk how it was called protection with InSpectre. I checked my PC with different antiviruses (Kaspersky - wich is my main one, and Malwarebytes. With the second one I tried also to check for viruses in safe mode.) and none of them found anything.
My temps are normal (like 70-80 wich I had everytime)
Also, three weeks ago, my PC got cleaned (i mean the interior of it) but still, the problem is persisting.
I update all of my drivers etc regularly.

Also, I didn't play anything for like 1 week or so and GTA seems to lag even more...

NOTE: I updated my GPU driver yesterday but everything still lags.

Can you help me please? I'm trying to find a way to get my pc back to normal. As I said, I'm struggling like almost halp a year. PLS HELP Sad

Clarification Request
Let's see that Web Speccy report.

The forum might eat it but try anyway. How is at https://www.piriform.com/docs/speccy/using-speccy/publishing-a-speccy-profile-to-the-web

I'll check it out and be aware I will read the drive smart values 01 and 07 immediately. You can check that out too.

Be aware that some push back on the issue with those values. All this means is they are new to this work. I'll understand if you do as well.

Here's how: https://www.piriform.com/docs/speccy/using-speccy/publishing-a-speccy-profile-to-the-web

If the forum eats your post, it will come back Monday most likely or you can just give me the tail end of the URL and I'll get it with that detail.

At first, I didn't understand what you meant me to do. So here is the link to my specs:

My PC is in russian, so ask me if you don't understand what's written there. Also, thank you so much for the fact you're trying to help me Grin

Thanks for this. Let's skip down to

The HDDs for a moment.

Nope that's not it. This Seagate is doing fine. It takes me a while to read these and if I need to put it into Google Translate a little longer. The 01 and 07 values are always checked out first in a problem like this but nothing there this time.

A Speccy reading.

1. RAM is reporting as Single Channel but there seem to be 2 sticks.
My bet is a stick is in the wrong slot.

This can translate into odd gaming delays as well as other areas. Should be easy to fix.
Check the motherboard manual on what slots to use.

2. Chrome is using a lot of RAM. Not unusual but exit Chrome when gaming.

For now, let's start with these easy items.
Also, be sure this next thing is off: https://www.howtogeek.com/224981/how-to-stop-windows-10-from-uploading-updates-to-other-pcs-over-the-internet/

Did everything you said.

I'm not sure about the ram thing. It shows its working like 16gb in the task manager. I'll try it tommorrow anyway, just to be sure.
I disabled that Windows feature and I also don't play with Chrome open. Thanks for the advice!
Do you have any more tips? Or did you find anything more?

The 16GB did show up but is in low performance mode.

It's just a simple move of one stick to the right slot. This item fits nicely in with your complaint and since the rest of the Speccy was clean (unless I take more time to do a Google Translate) everything looked OK except for this one thing.

Since this one thing matters, I'll pause for now.
