PC shuts down with shift key

Hi,
Everytime I hit the shift key my PC shuts down. No error messages,it just shuts down like normal. When I reboot it runs fine until the next time I hit the shift key. Any ideas?

the power management section see if any options for shutting down by keyboard are there. Many have options to power up by keyboard. Not familiar with the reverse but could be so. Set power management to User Defined and then don't define any.

Other possibility; a "Friend" with good computer smarts has created a macro to shut down by the shift key and didn't tell you. There are ways to do this. Many people have things such as this to save keystrokes. Of course using the shift key would be a poor choice of key to use. Usually done with a combination of keys.
