PC SHARE - server won't start

by Rojoyinc / November 11, 2010 3:36 AM PST

I've seen other posts (in other places) about this error. Has there been a solution?

I can't get PC SHARE to show up on my BD6800 from laptop (pc share seems to run fine on XP)

I can't get PC SHARE to run properly (I get a can't start server error) on my win7 primary desktop. (That runs everything).

Any ideas? Luckily, before finding a fix, I found a thread that said use Twonkymedia (a server that does work!) and works well. Also I didn't get a disc/software with my TV (UNC7000) LED - is that normal? I dl'ed PC SHARE from the samsung site.

Not really a big deal since I'm running Twonkymedia and works great.
Just was curious if PC SHARE would be better.
I THINK NOT - since it seemed that when sharing a dir/files it wants to COPY - DUPE them to the shared directory. I won't want my gigs of pics, music and video duped elsewhere. (ridiculous) maybe it doesn't, but seemed to be the way it works.

Twonky - you just point to the dirs and it scans you files. It also scans your mediaplayer play lists! You call one up and it plays those songs on your TV.

At this point, I'm now trying to find best conversion for my videos. Using Adobe media encoder to convert my mediacenter TV recordings and HD video formats (I have 3 different cameras/media formats) and want to just have it batch process them all to allow HD play on TV. I've had some great results so far, but still trying to get the details worked out.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
