Resolved Question

Pc seeing or marking all usb flash drives read only..

Hi, 1 pc sees all thumb or flash drives as read only, (even though they are not) as they read and write fine on other pc's? (also checked attributes) help?

Check the device mgr. area

Under system, then device mgr. any red/yellow flags found under USB listing? If yes, then correct for that. Alas, I have no clue what your PC setup is, details matter, provide.

ok.. yes sorry, just "upgraded" to the windows 10 tp build 10041, ( i have already tried the win 10 forums..) yeesh, Wink No flags on any devices.. usb etc.. it keeps adding a system information folder that is read only.. ( i have readyboost off) permissions are correct.. strange thing.. is i can delete files.. just not add them.. really would like to figure this one out.. as it is really not bad.. (except for this..)

Windows 10 isn't out yet.

The entire reason for 10 being out there is for folk to find bugs. You found one!

Now here's the thing. As 10 isn't out, we know to report it and wait for the real thing. I've run into a few that think it would be bug free.

Went and viewed the action logs.. and found the culprit.. Was using teracopy.. for some reason system files would transfer fine.. but pc to thumb drive.. no go.. uninstalled it.. and bam.. fixed.. weird.. but thank you guys.. Wink

Sorry but there are so many apps out there that no would guess this or that. It's an unrelased OS with issues to be resolved. Not gold yet so thanks for the update and hopefully Teracopy will work on the released version.
