Question

PC restarts before screen turns on

Jun 3, 2017 5:53PM PDT

Hi, recently my PC has completely destroyed itself, everything was working fine, then my hard drive busted so I bought a new one.

This is when it began,
First the screen and keyboard would lose signal after about 5 minutes but sound would keep playing, fixed this by changing my monitor connection to the motherboard instead of GPU, this worked for a day.
But now when I turn it on it starts up but before the monitor turns on the PC restarts over and over, it came back to a usable state once for about an hour, but now its stuck in a restart loop.

I have taken the PC apart and put it back together but it keeps happening, please help?

Specs are:
I7 2600 cpu
Gtx 970 (not installed using built-in) gpu
GA-H61M-S2PT motherboard

So tell more about it's problems before. I bet it was doing random lockups and reboots?

Anyhow, let's hear about the make, model PSU, what happens if you unplug the HDD.

Actually before the HDD busted it worked perfectly, infact i cant remember a single unwanted reboot.

PSU is a zalman 600 watt about a year old.

Unplugging HDD didnt change anything.

What else can we unplug?

1 stick of RAM, check if the CPU HSF is on right next. Keep downsizing till it goes stable.

Unplug all USB things, what else can we do without?

Have removed everything that is not needed to power on, hsf seems to be in place. Maybe a problem with the PSU.

Any other detail?

Make, model of the PSU?
Age of same?

Sorry but this detail only helps me give a nod to this or that. It could still be a failing mainboard.
