PC Problem (Need Help)

Dec 28, 2004 11:43PM PST

When I boot my computer, the computer makes a sort of click noise when it first boots up. I believe this has something to do with the graphics card (Radeon 9800 XT), but recently this noise is not stopping. Every minute or so the sound happens again. Also when i leave my computer on for a few hours I will come back to either a black screen (but the computer monitor is still on) or a blue screen. When i reboot Windows said it has recovered from a major error, and the error report blames the graphics drivers. I wonder if these two things are related. Also does anyone know what the click noise is? Thank you

The noise could be cause by the fan hitting something or the harddrive maybe on its way out. As for the black screen, are you certain this is NOT in sleep mode? And the error msg. when booted back on seems normal enough because it was shutdown improperly to begin with.
