Question

PC On, but No Signal Found on Monitor

Nov 4, 2018 5:57AM PST

I decided to transport my Gaming PC to another room and upon connecting everything in the right ports, I noticed my monitor isn't automatically turning on like it's always done before when my PC turns on. My monitor fails to find my PC's signal, I've tried all the standard procedures of: Searching for faulty cables, swapping cables, shutting off my pc for 30+ sec, shutting off and disconnecting my pc for 30+ sec, shutting off my monitor AND pc for 30+ sec, cleaning the ram, and trying another monitor/tv.

Any help?

Try this monitor on another PC and this PC on another monitor to sniff out where the issue is. It could be the monitor or the PC so you need to figure out which it is. Monitor or PC. (first.)

A common cause for this is that after the transport the monitor is connected to the onboard video, while the PC still uses the videocard. Just asking: are you sure you used the right port?
