Question

PC Motherboard

Apr 14, 2018 2:56AM PDT

Guys. . . I've been having problems with my PC since the last couple of days, I've tried as much as i could with the info i could collect from the internet.
Its basically 12 beeps to startup and it boots up normally am worried about the 12 beeps on startup and while playing any games it switches off abruptly.
My PC spec:
Intel i5 4440 3.1 Ghz
Asus h97m-e
Corsair Vengeance 8×1 DDR3
Asus strix Geforce gtx 960 2GB
Corsair VS550W

Look in the motheerboard manual whagt those beeps mean.
Sudden switch off usually is caused by insufficient cooling or insufficient power.

My processor is AMI (American megatrends) and in manual there is no beep code 12 .. Ive checked many times it's 12 beep codes only ..

Could be more than one error.

I remember that boards would beep out one error than another making more beeps than what was in the manual.

Next time supply the link to the manual so I don't have to hunt down the manual. Also, if you can YouTube the beeps maybe someone will listen and read the manual.

For now do the manual inspection of the CPU fan to see that it's starting up and looks like new as to speed. A failed CPU fan, clogged or not spinning is a common find today as most folk are just using their PC and are not mechanics or PC techs.

Just found this in one of the websites

AMI
12 beeps - BIOS rom file incorrect size - The BIOS ROM file found does not match the size of the flash device

Is that any more story to be told?

If this is to be believed, then flashing the correct BIOS would clear this up but I am NOT telling you to do this. Most story is required along with exact model numbers and you supply links to the product and manual.

Many of those systems are borked.

That is, they can't seem to always get these menus working.

Back to the site for your motherboard and check if they have a new method.
