PC memory vs PC2 memory

ok so its probably a newb question but whats the difference? Ive been on 3 different forums and used google altavista excite etc and cant get an answer. Can anyone here help me with it. I purchased a dell sc420 server as a first time home server and supposedly it takes pc2 3200 ddr memory. Would appreciate any help.

The general performance sites are http://www.tomshardware.com I will not give you any more URLS or search that site for your answers. I am only a guide and offer fishing lessons and no fish.

In general, and in order of slowest to fastest interfaces is XT ISA slots, AT ISA, PCI, AGP, and PCI Express. Since it is possible to put a good card in PCI and a slug into PCI Express, the connection does not determine performance. Hint: this is noted at Toms.

Still it kinda doesnt answer the basic question as to if a PCI video card at max will deliver 120 mpgs and an AGP/PCIe will deliver 2 to 4 gigs a sec but my linksys (basic network card) only offers 10/100 and a basic cable connect (decent but not the best) only gives 2 to 4 megs a sec why do video cards offer 2 to 4 gigs a sec. I appreciate the fast response but am still confused. I have looked at Toms and it doesnt do much to answer a question like that. Thanks though R. Proffitt. Appreciate it, I will look again.

PCI can pump some 133 Megabytes per second today. In 2007, PCI Express may do 5,000 transfers per second. But today is today and is actually very close to AGP speeds.

But again, since I can fit a slow card on PCI-Express and a fast card or PCI, the final benchmark can be whatever result I want.

So why do gamers use AGP at 2 gigs per sec with 1g network

So why do gamers insist on using 8x AGP or 16 x PCIe cards that deliver 2 to 4 gigs a sec if the modern day network card will only deliver 10 megs to 1 gig a sec. I am a total newb and need some help. What am I missing in this? Obviously people wouldnt be spending the extra $100 to 400 for nothing. So what basic facts are eluding me in terms of the network card vs video card? I am assuming they work together dependently not independently i.e. the video card (example 8x AGP) cant deliver 2 gigs a sec with a network card that is only 10/100 over networked games. So how does it actualy work if I am totally missing the point?

If you offer a 1 terra triangle second video card, even if you do the math the such could result in some 10,000 frame per second rate, they would still say its needed.

It's much like a cult and maybe you have to join them to understand it.

I will note that about the 200 to 300 dollar range is about right for "gamer" cards. If you run some HUMONGO 2048x1500 display then you'll need the over 500 buck card to keep up.
