Question

PC Is Underperforming

Apr 4, 2018 12:01PM PDT

I need some help people. A few weeks ago my PC suddenly started underperforming on all of my games. It’s almost brand new I just got it a few months ago. For example when I try to play Arma 3 I could play on super high settings and still get 60 FPS but now I can only get a maximum of 10 on those settings. I have rebooted my computer and even did a wipe of my computer and still having the same issue

And what did you do after the wipe, when the hard disk was totally empty (that's what a wipe does)?

Go back to factory conditions, install only that game and if it's still much too slow, it's a warranty issue, so back to the shop or the maker to fix it.

The most common reason I run into today is....
Apr 4, 2018 12:25PM PDT

A Windows 10 PC that the owner let Microsoft update drivers. There are other reasons so let's get the more common one out of the way then talk about drivers, Microsoft and Malware.

1. Read and disable this:

2. https://www.howtogeek.com/302595/how-to-stop-windows-10-from-automatically-updating-hardware-drivers/

3. Research DDU to clean off the video driver and install the version you had.

4. If malware is suspected, read http://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/how-to-remove-pup-option-603542/#post-f742c795-5881-433b-a29b-6d758efe5cd3

5. I do run into iffy hard drives dogging systems. Affects FPS and more. To sniff this out I read the PC's Web Speccy report. Here's how to share that report:
