Pc invasion Help

Friday some how my pc was like invaded they deleted files sent stupid emails including ssn to people in my box got into my yahoo. its like they used like a remote desktop
I have been computing for about 11 years never had this happen.

I cleaned my computer full nuke and clean out. But do not want this to happen again.Any suggestions would be great

vista fully updated with bitdefender but I do have a wirless and home server

What other security do you employ?

EG;

Firewall

Anti-spyware

Anti-Malware

Browser security, use non-IE browsers.

Wireless security, eg WPA-2 and not WEP?

Do not use P2P.

they sent stuff from my sent items to ex bosses and then other ppl I dont know bitwise internet security but my web was just my telephone number which I think may have been too week but my server I realized today had no anti virus software like I thought it did, my question is how did they get full control sir or maam I mean they only sent from ppl from address book some that dont even exist anymore I had to change all my passwords for yahoo and paypal and all I mean they deleted my journal and other files I didnt even know these files were sent until one came from my own account and other people called me I am sorry if I am babbling I am still freaked like days later.

It's difficult to understand what you are saying.

But here's the killer problem, "I realized today had no anti virus software like I thought it did". That's how they took control.

In addition to that, no mention of a firewall, so that is how they gained entry in the first place.

You need to fix those.

You got keystroked, look in to getting some security software that employs the feature, btw, it won't be free.
