PC Input greyed out - unable to select

Jan 10, 2009 6:17AM PST

Hi -

I'm trying to assist someone trying to connect a PC to a Samsung PS42Q97HDX/XEU. She cannot select the PC Input mode on her TV because it is "greyed out" (not selectable).

Her laptop is connected with a VGA cable. The laptop and cable work fine on her son's TV.

I've read the Samsung product manual for this model and didn't find any information.

Thanks

PC Input Greyed Out

zipityzap,

I apologize for the delay.

Is this a laptop, or a desktop? If it's a laptop, are you sending the signal out of the external VGA input? (Usually requires a Fn+F(x) combination.

Keep me posted.

its a laptop

Hi -

Thanks for the reply. She has a laptop.

I've used the VGA cable on my Samsung HDTV and, if I recall correctly, I am able to select "PC Input" as soon as the cable is plugged in. The laptop doesn't even have to be selected?

I'm travelling this week so I won't be able to test until this weekend.
