PC Hardware upgrade

Feb 21, 2013 12:30AM PST

Hi everyone. I am planing to do an upgrade on my pc in the future so i have to make my plans. I am a pc gamer so the new consoles make me think that it's time. I don't have a lot of money so i gave everything on the new pc from the start. Here is what i have now.
Processor: Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9550 2.83 GHz
Graphics card: NVIDIA Geforce GTS 450
RAM: 4GB
Ask for more info, just tell me how to find it, I'm not a hardware expert...
My goal is gaming with little money. Do i need to change one? Both? What first? Try to post links on your model suggestions.
Thanks for helping !!!!

64/32 bit

I thought the 64 bit thing too but not sure yet how it works. I know that it uses only 3.25GB ram from 4 cause i use 32 bit. So can i add more RAM in a 32 bit system? Will it be used? Thanks for the fast reply!!!

Then no. Don't add RAM.

The discussion about 32 bits and RAM is a bit done. Done to a crisp. So no.

I recently upgraded from 4 GB to 8 GB. It only cost me $42. Good bang for the buck. To check your options go to http://www.crucial.com and run the tool they have there. It will give you options for upgrading your RAM with costs.

Good luck.
