PC Hard drive suspicions.

by felonraptor / February 10, 2018 1:19 PM PST

Recently I have had issues with storage on my PC and I am wondering if it is all linked. About 2 months ago my 500GB Samsung drive randomly broke and wouldn't even register, so I carried on using my 1Tb Seagate for another 3 weeks until it also decided to stop working and had reallocated sectors, so I got left down to my 60gb ssd boot drive and my 128GB usb flash drive. Then a week after for no reason my SSD starting saying write permissions denied, so I googled and found a registry edit which fixed it, but now instead my USB had become write protected and this time I'm only left with formatting it. I want to buy a new 4Tb external drive but I am worried something will happen there too, I have run virus checks with avast, Kaspersky, bitdefender and Malwarebytes and they cleaned up any issues, so what could be causing it, the 2 drives which died were 10 and 11 years old so I am hoping it was just their time to die not something that caused it.

My specs are 10gb ram, windows 10 64bit newest update as of now, asus h81m mobo

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
