PC Game and dvd rw

Hi there I currently have a game which needs a 8x minimum reader spped.
I have a 16x reader as part of my dvdrw. The problem is that the game ssometimes freezes and i was wondering if this was because the read speed is falling below 8x at times?

ANy help is appreciated.
I have a geforce 64mb g card and 512mb sdram and a xp2400

Hmmm.....kinda confused on how the read speed can fall below 8x on a 16x reader. What game are you talking about? Maybe I have it. I have a 128MB GeForce card and PC with 512MB DDR SDRAM, 2.0 Ghz Pent 4, and some of my high tech games occasionally freeze..which can be caused by numerious factors..... I just ignore and go on with it unless it happens frequently.
Please, what game are you talking about and what specific video card do you have?

The game is Medal of honor allied assault, and I have a geforce2 mx400 64mb graphics card. And the minimum requirement for the games is a 16mb graphics card.
