Resolved Question

PC crashing after last Vista Update 11-15-2012

Nov 17, 2012 12:07AM PST

My PC is a Dell XPS 420.

PC keeps crashing on start up. It partial boots to a black screen with only the cursor in the upper left hand corner. Then it dies. I start the PC again, this time it brings up - start up in safe more or normal window mode. If I click normal, it brings Vista up. It boots up normally and runs well until the next time it has to be turned on.

Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

(NT) Can you clear the Event Viewer, crash and then check that?

Hi! Thanks for you response. After I posted I researched further. One of the articles suggested cleaning the registry - so that's what I did. Seemed to fix the problem!
