Question

PC crashes in buzzing noises after launching a game.

Jul 20, 2017 10:35AM PDT

Hi,
So my PC, a modified Dell Xps 8500 (specs below), everytime I launch a game (usually Playerunknown's Battlegrounds), freezes for 2-3 seconds (I can still hear the audio) and then a buzzing noise starts and the computer shuts itself down and reboots. I tried switching for my old HDD (didn't work) and completely reinstalling Windows 10, which didn't work either. What is causing this issue and how can I fix it?
Thanks,
Thomas

Answer
Sounds like a generic crash.

Could be heat related. Try it with the cover off and if it takes longer, consider cleaning and replacing all heatsink compounds.

I tried taking the cover off but it didn't change much. I also tried cleaning it with a hairdryer (it's the only thing I got...) and it still doesn't work. Following your suggestion, I immediatly ordered thermal compound on Amazon. I hope it's going to work! Would there be a better way of cleaning the dust?
