PC crashed after download!

by pepelongsocks / October 5, 2006 6:40 AM PDT

I had some spyware on my PC & tried the eTrust anti-spyware Suite (actually I don't know which one as my PC is no longer working) but it was the one with firewall, anti-virus & anti-spyware & anti-adware.
I don't know if this was caused by this download or from a previous problem but now if I turn on the PC it only works for 10 seconds & then everything freezes. I now have to pay a PC technician to restart my PC from scratch & be without a PC for a while.

I just wanted to ask wether you know what caused this. Although I'm not blaming the software as anything could have caused this but I can only say I'll be very very careful of what I download in the future!

Do try System Restore.

It's great for such things.

You may as well know that some pests are very much like a nail in your car tire. Pull the nail and you get a flat.

System Restore

Thank you for your reply. That's a very good analogy but I hadn't even ran the program. It could be just that but I installed it, & it rebooted automatically & bam nothing worked.
(I'm not blaming the software).

I am going to have system restore, thank you. Have no choice really.

What Was Your Previous AV/FW/Antixxx Norton Variant??
by tobeach / October 5, 2006 4:10 PM PDT

Norton does not play nice with others, often preventing or corrupting attempts to add competitors products. Often prevents online scanners from landing their controls (ACT-X) while parts of Norton are still awake/installed. Notoriously difficult to un-install completely.
Here's hoping Sys Restore saves you! Happy
