PC connection to Samsung LN-T1954H TV via HDMI?

I want to connect a PC (Win7 Home Premium, XFX Double D FX-785A-CDFC Radeon HD 7850 Video Card) to a Samsung LN-T1954H LCD TV. The TV manual says to use a D-Sub cable to connect the VGA ports and a seperate audio cable.

Can I instead connect the HDMI output of the video card to the HDMI port on the TV? I understand some TVs don't allow this.
