Question

PC configuration - is it a good choice?

Mar 25, 2014 10:16PM PDT

Hello everyone,I'm going to buy a new desktop PC, as my old one
has more than five years of age (and getting slower and less reliable),
so I've been searching for the configuration advice on the net. One guy
said this is a good choice:

Gigabyte GA-H87-HD3 as motherboard
Intel Core i5-4570 3200 as CPU
Seagate Barracuda 7200.14, ST1000DM003 as HDD
ZALMAN Z5 PLUS as chassis
Thermaltake Contac 21 as CPU cooling
DIMM DDR3, 8Gb, Crucial as RAM
Gigabyte GV-N760OC-2GD as HDD
and FSP EPSILON-F4-550 550W as PSU

I trust him and his experience, but still want to hear other people' opinion. Are these parts compatible with each other? And is 550W wattage okay?

Thanks everyone in advance,
Paul

That psu does not seem to be very common.
Can you share a link.....in English.

I'm getting the impression it's a quad rail unit.
That's ok but you best figure out how that power is split and then make sure you don't overload a rail.

PSU

I've done some googling and have seen that this PSU, at least at this name, seems to be marketed only in Russia (i'm from Russia, actually Laugh ), The specs say the following:
Meets the 80PLUS Silver requirements
Standard: 12V 2.31, EPS 12V 2.92

Line currents: +3.3V - 24A. +5V - 22A. +12V - 42A, -12V - 0.3A and +5Vsb - 3.0A
It has a 120-mm fan
And it has one 24-pin ATX, one Floppy, six SATA, one 4+4-pin CPU, three Molex, and two 8-pin PCI-e (6+2)

(hope I translated everything correctly )

Except PSU, other things seem okay?

Your specs show it as a single rail unit......looks good.

Ram.....it would be best if that is 2x4GB@1600.
