Pc-cillin Internet Security 2006

I have a major problem with Pc-cillin 2006. The situation is when the Pc-cillin is active (even with *all* the features disabled), my internet access is too slow to be usable, meaning it takes several minutes to load a web page, if it does at all. I have cable broadband. This happens with both IE and Firefox. If I completely close Pc-cillin, the internet access is normal.

I have been in contact with Trend Micro's techs (several) and they have been unable to solve this problem. I sent them a Hijack This file, which they said was clean. There is no other antivirus or firewall installed. I also turned off all online antispyware programs (spy sweeper). I have run several antivirus and antispyware programs (each different software), which turns up nothing.

I have xp pro, 2.26G intel, 768M ram. Any thoughts would be greatly apprciated.
