PC card shortcut???

by sushil_dude / May 7, 2004 12:52 PM PDT

I am unable to resolve this one issue. I use a wireless card on my laptop to access internet. But in order to log on to my work email on secure dial up I have to always disable the wireless card before I dial out. Until yesterday I used to see a small logo on the right bottom corner of the monitor that had the pc card logo and then I could right click on that logo to stop the wireless card. I am not seeing the shortcut logo? Can someone please help? Thanks in advance.

The icon may be 'hidden', so unhide Otherwise, go to the main program at Program Files--and go to options/preferences and put the icon back on. BTW-what make and model of wireless card ?

I have a wireless setup that includes a wireless card and I have to use a dialup connection to access my work network. I don't have to disable my wireless service to perform this task. I have a dialup connection made with a shortcut on the desktop. I simply connect using that dial up and everything works. How are you conecting? Are you trying to open the e-mail program and have it choose the right connection?

Oh wow..this is cool..thank you so much..I had tried dialing in while my wireless card active but it did not do it. But today it did..I guess I wasn't doing something right the last time..The only problem now..I keep getting this enter network password pop up window and it says FW-1 (password). Reason: Access denied - wrong user name or password. I donno why it keeps popping up even though I am able to access everything I need to. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

I entered my user name and password when I created the dialup connection. I also created a shortcut for the desktop. When I initially used the shortcut, I checked the box "save this user name and password for the following users". I don't have to enter that information each time I use the dialup connection.

If you are having problems that can't be solved, delete the one you are using now and created a new dialup connection. It is easy to do as long as you have the user name, password and phone number. Go to the control panel, internet options, connections and remove or add as needed.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
