PC Booting Problem

PC Booting Problem

This past week, I was on my desktop computer one evening and everything was working great. Then, the next morning, I turned on my computer and I got the following message on my computer screen.

Internal hard drive not found
To resolve this issue, try to reseat the drive.
No Bootable Device
Strike F1 to retry boot, F2 enter Setup Menu, F5 enter PSA

First off, I pushed, F1 to reboot and nothing happen. Secondly, I pressed F2 to go in the setup menu, which is the BIOS. I notice all 3 of my internal hard drives were recognized, so I am guessing that’s good. The next step I did was to pressed F5 to go to PSA tests, which is the Pre-boot System Assessment, and I ran the whole tests on my computer. It said that all tests passed, and also the PSA recognized all 3 of my internal hard drive. Lastly, I open my computer and reseated all my hard drives. And it stills says the above message.

I notice when I restart the computer, it gives me the options to press F2 to go to setup or press F12 to go to Boot options. When I press F12, it keeps loading, and when the time to load the booting options comes, nothing happens. Just a little line on the top left of the screen. Like the program is missing, and I am probably guessing, that is where my problem is at.

My computer is a Alienware Aurora R4. It is running with UEFI boot mode. The only thing I did with it, was I put 2 internal hard drives in it about a year ago.

I will appreciate any help to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

Will this machine boot a disc?

No, booting from disc

No Bob_B, it won't boot from a disc. I have a Windows 7 startup disc, and when I put the disc in, it just goes to the screen I originally posted in my first post, about not having bootable device.

If it won't boot from disk or disc then it looks like the machine is busted.

The cheapest part to replace is the cmos battery.....a few bucks.

I'll assume you set the boot order to point at the disc.

Time to check out if the SATA and power cables are connected (for the SATA, both ends) and listen for the HDDs to spin up.
