You have the reason it's not working. Maybe just use it as a non-touch till you can install the correct screen. So far, no maker has supplied ways to fix using the wrong screen.
Recently cracked the touch screen on my Pavilion Laptop, took it down to my local village PC techy who removed the damaged screen and quoted the numbers on the back to his supplier who swiftly had a replacement forwarded. Failed to obtain the correct screen and tried a number from his supplier. Everything works, save when the screen in touched say on an icon it would not register and it appeared to "dimple" a few inches or on the opposite part of the screen. Maybe the touch screen need to be re booted somewhere in the soft ware. Anybody else had this problem
