Patched Windows XP now all I make is costers.

After downloading the latest security patches from Microsoft, Nero 6 will not burn a good DVD. I tried using Copy2DVD and I had the same results. When trying to play back it give a unreadable error. I know it happened after the patches as I had just burned serveral DVD's before the upgrade. Has anyone had this type of problem? Also I noticed the Dvd I created before the patches had a uniform burn, but the (several)disk now have a profound burn line that is visiable

Back out the patch...

and try it again. If it works, then the patch may have technology that blocks certain DVD functions. Microsoft has been very vocal about piracy where DVD copying is concerned. Could be they snuck that one in. If you can't do DVD creation and backing out the patch, then you have another issue.

and life goes on...

p.s. Have you tried Roxio's Media Creator?

What patch? Just got Nero 6 more or less sorted out, I don't want that patch near my computer. I have Update turned off altogether. I want to know about any updates before I download and install. By the way, have you got the fairly new(last week) 6.0.16 Nero update? Fixed a lot of problems I had been patching and hand installing drivers, etc. Things like multi-session. chuck

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
