Password save

Jul 30, 2004 6:53AM PDT

When I first started using my computer, I sais no to remembering my password on the pop-up box (IE6) that comes up for login and password on some sites. I would like to change this so it remembers my password. It still offers to remember my password and login info on many sites, including this one. I just can't figure out how to get it to save my info on those pop-up login boxes.

Thanks for the help!

COokies are enabled. I'm not talking about CNET either. Just the password box that pops up when trying to access sites you haveb a subscription too etc.

At my work, you have to enter a username and password to get on the WWW. A pop up box asks for this info. Originally there was an option to save this, but I lost it. I'm just trying to get it back.

Thanks!

Since we haven't been properly introduced to your computer at work and know nothing about it, let me suggest then that the article [Q148925] describes situations when making a Dial-Up Networking connection and if you try to save the password by clicking to select the Save Password check box, the password may not be saved. This problem may occur even when you successfully connect to the server and when your password has not changed. This behavior can occur for any of the following situations:

a. Your password list (.pwl) file is damaged.

b. The Rna.pwl file (if it exists) is damaged.

c. Password caching is disabled.

d. Automatic logon is enabled.

e. One or more of the files that are associated with Dial-Up Networking is missing or damaged.

f. User profiles are disabled, but the ProfilesList key is present in the registry.

I have hp754n at home. never have been able to save password or use autofill feature. About the only thing that is saved is history and addresses on the address box. I have used several knowlegable computer people and I have checked and rechecked countless times all the tools, internet options, my computer, everything that they or I could think of. I am hoping someone can help me out as well.
I am running home xp, 2.53 GHz intl penium 4 processor.
