Question

Password on wake-up now required

Jul 28, 2017 12:27PM PDT

I've not been able to find a solution to this - the advanced power settings (since my update) do not have an option to stop the requirement for a password when the PC wakes up. Is the only solution to not allow the PC to go to sleep? Thanks!

Can't get attachment to upload...

Thanks - tried that. It's greyed out - says to go to power and sleep settings....but there's no option to turn off the password requirement there (at all). I've found screen shots from others that show that there is, but there's none for me! Tried to add attached picture from Power Options>Advanced Settings, but can't get attachment to upload! Not scoring big, here...

I have to guess you are new to this forum. Screens are put at some image sharing site and then linked in my post. For me it's imgur.com with a trick. I insert the link then change the http to https so it shows inline.

To me this sounds like you are on something other than the current Windows 10. I'm on the latest but not a beta.

I checked on my machine Bob.

And it shows the same as your image.

Thanks - I don't think my earlier reply went through, my Windows 10 updated yesterday....I don't want others to have this issue, but I sort of hope someone does and has the answer. Thanks for your help!

Turn of windows hello

Turn off windows hello. Then you can change sign in to never. Then if you want to use windows hello click on setup & go thru setup again.

And as if to rub it in, it tells me I don't have windows hello available on the device. Thanks, good to know for the future!

Didn't work - I don't have windows hello (it's not an option to adjust it). Thanks, though - good to know for the next device!
