General discussion

password not auto signing

Dec 26, 2005 9:32AM PST

Firefox won't save my DSL password. It's not in my never save list, and I've even deleted all passwords, and reinstalled Fx to no avail. It never even asks me if I want to save my p/w. Any ideas?

There's a workaround...
Dec 27, 2005 9:56AM PST

Yahoo is one of several sites that instructs your browser not to offer to remember your password, for security reasons. Thus, this is a problem no matter what version you have. However, there is a workaround:

* Make sure the saving of passwords is enabled.
* Click here.
* Drag the box ''remember password'' to your favorites menu.
* Go to the login site.
* Enter your username and password.
* Before you press ''sign in,'' load 'remember password' from your favorites.
* A box will pop up telling you what it did...click OK, then ''sign in.''
* When prompted, tell Firefox to remember your password from now on.

Hope this helps,
John
