partitioning hard drive

i have 80 gig d drive and want to partition it to put win xp w/sp1 on it. how do i do this? have never done it before. is there anyone out there who would be able to help me or point me in the right direction?

You partition as part of the installation...

Step by step instructions here. Pretty easy just follow prompts, I would make 2, 40 gig partitions and put operating system on first one and pictures, mp3s, and other personal files on the second. That way if you have to format and reinstall again you won't lose you personal stuff.
