Partitioned Drives?

My PC is fully covered security wise.I have Partitioned my drive in readiness for windows7. Could someone tell me if i still need to Install security software to my new partition, because i have a feeling Windows will see my Partition as a new drive.
Please advise.

A partition, indeed, is getting a drive letter in Windows. You need security software installed in all partitions you're booting from only (that is, your current Windows XP and your future Windows 7 partition, once Windows 7 is installed and running).
