Partition Table problem in Dell Laptop running Vista

by wiedun / October 14, 2009 7:19 AM PDT

Hi ... I have a problem with my girlfriends Inspiron...

I was running Partition Magic today and wanted to resize one of the partitions ... After restart Vista won't run...
I pick the Launch StartuP recovery, it shows System recovery Options window with nothing in it .... When I try to load the drivers it lets me to choose from 3 partions ... but there is no Partition C with the OS .
When I run startup repair it says:

The Partition table does not have a valid System Partition.
Repair action : Partition table repair

Please help ... girlfriend nearly killed me ... cause of "lost" music etc ...
Thank You ...

Start picking out plots
by Jimmy Greystone / October 14, 2009 8:53 AM PDT

Start picking out plots at your graveyard of choice, or be prepared to flee however far you think is beyond the range your girlfriend is willing to go to exact her revenge. Or just throw yourself at her mercy, and hope you're just so darn cute and lovable she will spare you.

While rare, if you read the warnings associated with programs like Partition Magic, you see they state they make no guarantees against data loss.

So, this has now become a case of, "We only lose what we don't back up." I wouldn't recommend saying anything like that to her BTW. The only words out of your mouth should be either, "I'll be right back," which will be the last words you ever speak to her, or, "I'm sorry," over and over until they have lost all meaning. You might need, "Not the face!" if she isn't swayed by the apologies.

Best of luck to you in this life... Or the next.
