Partition Magic Pro 7 (Drive Mapper) Problem

May 30, 2005 12:44AM PDT

Hi,

I used Partition Magic to merge two partitions together on my PC as space was getting low on the C:\ drive and I felt that this was the best/easiest way to reconcile this.

All went well untill I wanted to use the Drive Mapper tool to rename all of the programs of the merged partition D:\. There was a local power failure before I could use the tool when the power was returned the PC rebooted but I could no longer see any of the files and programs from the old D:\ partition.

Diskeeper shows that there is a large area of files on the disc but of course they are inaccessible to me.

Can anyone suggest a way of getting access to these files without doing a complete reformat on the drive and the reinstalling XP, the Service Packs, updating all of my drivers and reinstalling all of the programs again?

Any help will be appreciated.

Bren

1. No.

2. Call their support and ask about your scenario (power outage during use.)

You obviously believe me to be extremely rich if you think I can call a Help Desk. ;

It would be them. You paid for the product so you can get some support via their web site or by phone.

Common problems you will find answers to in forums like these. Move too far off center (like yours) and you need to check with the source.
