partition magic 8 error 983 too many errors

Nov 27, 2003 4:19AM PST

Hi, I have amd 1300mhz, 1024mb, win xp pro. 80gb hard drive.
I want to make a partition using partition magic but it alway said Error 983. Too many erros found, process halted.
What can I do?. at the PM8 site they recommend to run a chkdsk /f in a DOS prompt but it did not work.
Or is there another way I can do that partition?.
Thank you

Tell about "it did not work."

That was far too vague. Did the machine fail to run chkdsk?

Partition Magic error 983

I learned from it the hard way, but it was actually most simple problem that I encountered...you just have to clean or secure delete all the free spaces from your hard drive using the Partition Magic 8 or similar cleaning tool and you will do just fine.
