Original Windows 95 only supports FAT16, so 2 Gb partitions. You would need 4 partitions.
Windows 95 OSR 2 and Windows 98 support FAT 32, so partitions up to 2 Terabyte.
I don't suppose the BIOS on a 1996 motherboard will be limited to 2 Gb. But you could have a look in the manual that came with it.
