I love this whole drama

You'd think she was doing 25 years in San Quentin from the way she's talking.

You just don't know until you've been there... ;-)

By the way....

She is a "criminal". That is why she is in jail.

I think she needs a remedial math class since she obviously can't put 2 and 2 together.

Oh, what a tragic "Kafkaesque" nightmare she has found herself in! One could almost feels sorry for her.... Not.

She pays her publicist..
Jun 21, 2007 11:41PM PDT

to get the media to make fun of her?

I don't know. I find the people who are constantly dumping on her and making a big deal out of this "story" to be every bit as distasteful and clueless as she is, if not more so.

- Collapse -
Who makes fun of her?
Jun 22, 2007 12:18AM PDT

Except for a few TV comedians, the majority of press coverage about her is concerning her comings and goings.

As for her publicist? She pays to keep her face in the public eye and her publicist does that job admirably. It strikes me as rather disingenuous to complain afterwards about it.

Some people just love hypocrisy, I guess.

Watch TV much? Read any papers?
Jun 22, 2007 12:46AM PDT

She is constantly being made fun of and criticized, and not only by comedians. A lot of people are taking a lot of delight in her misery. I try to avoid it as much as possible but it's everywhere.

I doubt very much that her publicist has anything to do with her being dragged through the mud by the media. That idea is just plain stupid.

Dragged through the mud???
Jun 22, 2007 1:06AM PDT

She is a porn star for goodness sake!

With her family fortune she still could not have done anything to stop her first home movie from being dispersed on the web but she could have put the people responsible into the poor house! The fact that other recordings and photos have been distributed since then speaks volumes about her. Going without underwear is one thing but what about instances such as going topless on a boat with the guy who owns Girls Gone Wild and sitting there while someone takes your picture is just asking for the internet spotlight.

Burn me once... shame on you, burn me ten times? She knows what she is doing and if not, then her parents are indeed to blame.

Hey, your opinion is your opinion but I have no sympathy for her and if she insists on making such ridiculous and self serving comments then I will continue to point them out.

Porn star???

Hardly. Get a grip.

Not gonna waste any more brain cells on this.

Maybe not a porn star but that is hardly discrete.

I think you should know more than you do about people you plan to defend there Ed.

first "she is a porn star for goodness sake", then she's "maybe not a porn star". And I should know more??? Are you on an anti-porn crusade?

All I'm saying is that piling on is most distasteful. Glass houses; he who is without sin, and all that.

Never said I was without sin Ed.
Jun 22, 2007 8:09AM PDT

Bottom line, the girl... strike that... the woman is publicly styling herself as a reformed, future role model.

Does that mean she will now be distancing herself from her behavior on her latest TV show? Does that mean she will no longer make a living by renting herself out to parties in order to draw the paparazzi?

Handsome is as handsome does Ed. She will have plenty of chances to be redeemed in the eyes of the public and quit playing dumb as she has admitted to doing. As a start, she could donate her 1 million dollar speaking fee from NBC to a worthy cause.

"He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

So, if you are not without sin, maybe you shouldn't cast stones.

Anyway, what business is it of yours what she does or will do in the future? I think we are all safe from this dangerous criminal now.

However, since you are being so "New Testament" today... what qualifies you to lecture me?

Handsome is as handsome does.

I notice you studiously avoided my question about what qualified you to lecture me when it came to religious ethics. That was your basis for your comments, right? ... he, who is without sin? That is why you are supposed to testify through word and deed. When you give your life over to the lord, according to the gospel then any past deed can be forgiven.

Hmmm... seems that is just exactly what I said about Miss Hilton.

- Collapse -
No, Grim, I was NOT lecturing you about religious ethics.
Jun 22, 2007 9:16AM PDT

Just trying to get across my distaste with the piling on that is being done here. By the gossip-mongers in the media and here. Nosy busybodies who are as bad or worse than Paris is, IMHO.

Take it as you will. Handsome is as handsome does, after all, right?

"She pays her publicist.. to get the media to make fun of her?"

You are the one who chose to start editorializing my comment. She said that the media used her. An asinine comment at the very least since she does her darndest to place herself in the public eye. Indeed, she charges establishments to appear. She hired a publicist for what then? Obviously not to keep track of when her license would once again become valid. She hired a publicist to create buzz.

"She pays to keep her face in the public eye and her publicist does that job admirably. It strikes me as rather disingenuous to complain afterwards about it."

Did I say her publicist was paid to have the media make fun of her? No... yet you chose to imply that was the meaning of my comment. From there you went on to raise a Holier than thou argument about sin and who has a right to cast the first stone.

So you find it distasteful that she is being ridiculed? Did you find her past attention seeking behavior more acceptable? Sorry, but I have no empathy for her or you. She sought the spotlight and now she has it.

You are always crying about how I distort your words... yet you never own up to it when you do the same to me. And yes Ed, you were lecturing me.

"Maybe concentrating on the lives of others makes people forget their own troubles."

Look at how popular the movies became during the depression. Busby Berkley made fantasy escapism in the form of big production numbers. It's just that as time has gone by, popular media has discovered that human nature gets more titillation from the dirty little secrets and scandals of celebrities than from fiction.

I was amused that NBC has publicly stated it does not pay for interviews. The million dollar figure will go for "production" costs or some other subterfuge I imagine.

MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) have said that Paris is effectively being rewarded for drunk driving.

I was curious to know if this fee is legal. Are there not laws in effect that prevent criminals from making money by selling their story? Would this not qualify as such?

Maybe we should demand stiffer fines and sentences for these women when found driving? After all, it would seem some of them are worse than the inebriated they want to crack down on severly. I'd rather be on the road with a well driving DUI than anywhere within several blocks of any of these type drivers. Yet, I can't help but feel it's just the tip of the iceberg, we need to demand stiffer fines and sentences for any card carrying member of MADD who drives like this. If driving while drunk is no excuse, then why is driving while stupid not punished to the same extent?
