Parental control challenge! How to deal with the issue?

Nov 27, 2014 6:22PM PST

I have a teenage son who has been proved to be untrustworthy on too many occasions . He has beening taking drugs for almost half a year, off and on. As his dad, I have been called into the city Police station for several times. Now, according to his words, he doesn't take drugs for one month. Frankly speaking, I don't trust him. He has promised to me many times that he would quit it, but failed. I bought him a new phone yesterday. Even if I don't like mobile spy software, I think that under certain conditions, strictly controlled by the parents, a spy program can help parents a lot. I am here, just wondering what you will do in my case? Will you also spy your children's mobile phone?

When they send them to rehab

They take away the phone. It seems that some folk new to this will supply them with phone, car, transportation or spy on them rather than what rehab tends to do.

As this often is a spam magnet the moderators will remove spam replies without notice.

Maybe rehab is the best choice.

Thank you, you are the only one who answered my question, I don't know if I posted in the wrong place. I got some useful help from other forums, thank you all the same.

More likely

It's a question that has prior discussions. Your question had a slight twist in that it made me think of what they do in rehab. I fear most folk have learned that parental controls or spying apps are a dead end. The reason for no links is the spammers and those that peddle these tend to spam when this comes up.

There are so many people like you who makes the person who really needs help cannot get help. I won't put any spam here, not as you think.

It's pretty simple.

There are many prior discussions. Almost everyone has folk upset with everyone's answers. I see you may be upset too but you can get past that. It's also why many no longer answer the same question when it comes up again.

As to the spam, I didn't write you would do that. The topic attracts the spammers so moderators will declare areas to be link free so we don't have to remove those posts.

Clearer?

I don't like to search the posts in a forum, but anyway, you provided some useful info, thank you.
