Question

Paralyzed & need help with audio product

Aug 23, 2015 2:01PM PDT

Hello, I'm 31 paralyzed from the shoulders down. Parents live in my house with me to help take care of me. Sometimes, it's hard to hear me if someone is at the other end of the house from where I am. Therefore, I've been wanting some kind of intercom system. Wireless and voice controlled & preferably not huge/expensive. Not too long ago I saw something that sounded awesome and I shrugged it off and don't know why because now I can't find it. It looked like a round speaker, white color, not very thick – smoke detector like shape and thickness. But it was wireless and could put one on the other end of the house and one in my room and was completely voice controlled. It did other things as well but main thing I wanted was the voice part. I really want it, but can't find it at all. I have found voice controlled intercoms that looks similar to answering machines but this specific one I wish I could find again. Can anyone help me out? I would appreciate it so much! Thank you!

Answer
This area is usually done by your support system.

That is, you tell your support folk what you want and they go set it up.

This area is advancing nicely with folk finding new applications for the Amazon Echo. I added a light switch to mine and I wonder if you could use that to call for help.

Setup?

One Amazon Echo.
One amazon echo controlled socket that plugs into some lamp or bells to let folk know you need help.

Don't have any folk people

I don't have support folk. I contacted Yahoo before about the echo and they said it would be exactly what I want. If I could find that product I was talking about, that would be awesome
