Paper size display in Word 2003 SP1

Apr 25, 2005 7:50AM PDT

I have been running Office 2003 SP1 without problems, but today something strange happened. When I try to create a new Word document, the page shown on screen is a cut-off size, only 9" long, and also somewhat narrower than normal. I checked "Paper Size" in the "Page Setup" window and it read the normal setting, that is, "Letter" and 8.5" and 11". I have tried rebooting, resetting the paper to another size and then setting it back again, and searching "Help" to no avail. This is not a problem with already existing Word documents in my computer, but only when I try to create a new one.

I am having the same problem
Jun 26, 2005 12:57PM PDT

I am experiencing the same issue. I recently changed a registry setting to allow the ruler to display properly in inches due to an upgrade issue. The registry fix was based on a Microsoft solution. Not sure if this has anything to do with the problem.

My experiences are the same. The page setup indicates the correct paper size but it is displayed cut off and not the correct sizes. I have the view set on "Print Layout"

Any help would be appreciated.

Found problem and solution

This a setting issue. It either happened when I applied a fix so that the ruler displayed the proper units or when I did my last Office update directly form Microsoft or a combination of the two or maybe it is something else. Well you can find the solution at the following link:

Hope this helps.
