Question

Panny 60" st60 calibrations at 500 hrs

Mar 3, 2014 2:58AM PST

has anyone changed their settings after 500 hours? my set on its own looked markedly better - deeper contrast, stronger colors with no changes made to the initial settings. I have run S&M calibration disk about every 100 hrs. what I did change when running S&M calibration disk at 500 hrs + was color, upping the values a few clicks on the CNET vales and up a lot more from the other "expert" posted settings to Custom, to the low 40's. everything else remained nearly the same except for one value. Black Extension set at 1.

Appreciate any settings that anyone is using on aged panels.
Chris

A short update. I decided to look closer at the settings and compare custom; D-Nice settings, with other settings, including Home Theater's Custom, and I still preferred D-Nice's settings. But when compared to CNET's Cinema settings I am not sure. There is more "pop" to D-Nice but to the extent that some colors - especially red, is a bit over saturated. I thought blue look better on CNET too. As often it is said, a professional calibration is needed as each set will have its own properties. I don't have the time or knowledge / equipment to mess with the various individual colors. I compared each input using Dish channels; the Golf Channel for greens, various HBO channels including last nights boxing for reds, blacks, white /silver and contrasts, as well as other movies. Also compared over the air HD for NBC - news and Tonight show, as well as FOX for local news. All quality feeds. So depending on the show I might switch between the two settings. if anyone has modified the various color values let me know. I probably now have about 750 hours on the set.
thanks
