Pandora can now spam Android calendar

Dec 19, 2010 1:33AM PST

Pandora just jumped the shark with the new update for their Android app. They now get the permission to read, MODIFY, and email the attendees of your calendar appointments. This deserves a Molly rant. Some people LIVE out of their calendar. Imagine having Pandora send spam to who you are meeting for a job interview or sales call. Pandora tech support says they will ask first, but finger slips happen as do coding errors. Imagine if their app crashes and corrupts your calendar? I've been a Pandora One subscriber so I'd never even see the ads which will cause this, but I don't feel comfortable having the app installed on my phone which is even capable of this.
