Panasonic Viara TX-P42C3B No Setting Menu Option.

by ray123454321 / February 1, 2014 12:00 AM PST

I bought this TV from a guy who acquired it from the Olympic stadium.

My problem is the settings option is missing from the menu, so I cannot reset the TV.

The only options I have is Picture and Sound.

It does have networking features, however I cannot setup or use these features as there is not settings option.

Anyone got any ideas how to reset the TV?

May have been a custom model.

Ever hear of those Hotel TVs? Make the call the Pan and do see if they have a firmware update on the site. However given the story it may be special.

Panasonic weren't helpful

I did call Panasonic, but they seem confused that the setup option was missing.

I did wonder if it was in Hotel mode, but i cant seem to kick it out of it.
I have tried various methods to bring up the hotel mode menu.

I used to work for Humax and one of our TV's had hotel mode which was a button combination from standby and selecting factory resetting, if my mind serves me right.

This model is and the TX-P42C3 are normal consumer model, unless custom firmware was installed, which I doubt.

I have downloaded the firmware for this TV, just need an SD card now.
I'm hoping this will reset the TV
