Panasonic th-42phd7uy connection help

Jan 25, 2005 5:36AM PST

I'm trying to connect this monitor to a digital cable box. The bottom of my monitor has the following set up:
Slot 2- [r/l audio in | s video | video in/out (plugs are audio plug size)] Slot 3- [audio r/l | PR/CR/R, PB/CB/B, Y/G].

Ok, here's the deal. If I use a basic component wire from the slot 2 video in to the cable box's video out the monitor works, but of course picture quality is low. What I want to do is connect the two using Y, PB, PR cables with BNC adapters. However, when I connect these between the digital cable box and tv slot 3, there's no signal!

Maybe a clue?: When I enter the tv monnitor's set up, I don't get an input 1 option, just input 2 & 3. Input 2 is where I get the signal, but in set-up there's no choice between rgb/component. That area is just blank. Under input 3, there's no signal but in set-up the choice between rgb/component is there (neither provides a signal though).

How do I get the Y,PB, PR to work? Could the slot 3 card be broken/bad or is my wiring funky? Please help!
