Below you'll find the settings we found best for viewing the Panasonic TC-P50VT25 in a dark room via the HDMI input with a 1080p, film-based source. Your settings may vary depending on source, room conditions, and personal preference. Check out the Picture settings and calibration FAQ for more information.

Black level
Jun 23, 2010 2:09AM PDT

Hi
Do you already know, when we can expect the results of the long-term black level testing?

Do you let the TV run 24/7?

Thank you!

96 Hz false contouring in vt25
Jul 19, 2010 7:37PM PDT

David,

Have you relayed to Panasonic about the false contouring artifact in 96 Hz when fed with a 1080p/24 signal? I am curious to know. In your estimation do you think this can be fixed with a firmware update? I checked and the contouring artifact happens only with 96 Hz and not at 60 Hz or even 48 Hz. I cannot fathom why 48 Hz does not show the problem while 96 Hz does.

Picture settings for 3D mode
Oct 21, 2010 6:32PM PDT

Would your calibration settings for Custom mode also apply to viewing 3D content? Because THX mode doesn't seem to be available when in 3D mode and I notice the picture seems quite a bit different from 3D Custom mode to 2D THX mode (both set to your recommended calibration). Thanks!

3D Picture Settings

I believe that David used the default Cinema mode settings for 3D. I tried them last night and they aren't too shabby. The colors look off a bit and the contrast could be higher, but it's a good starting point.

Well. I asked on Oct. 22, 2010 and I'll ask again: Do any of these questions ever get answered?
Hello, David...anyone home?
